There is, now, solid proof that BIGBANG is the savior of YG Entertainment after news of their contract renewal caused YG stocks to soar.

According to a report by Kpopstarz, scandals that rocked the company last year caused stocks to plummet and forced former YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk to vacate his position to make way for new management.

It can be recalled that YG stocks plummeted last year after BIGBANG's Seungri and Yang Hyun Suk were investigated concerning the Burning Sun scandal. Yang Hyun Suk received even more criticism after he was accused of covering up the alleged drug use of former iKON member BI.

The scandal which started in March of last year caused stocks to drop from 675.6 billion from 786 billion in the space of three days and did not recover market prices since. YG was also plagued with the problem of having no definite moneymaker despite the success of BLACKPINK's Your Area World Tour.

After news of BIGBANG's contract renewal was released, YG Entertainment's prices shot up to 23,000 won per share, which is a massive boost from the 16,000 KRW it maintained since the beginning of the Burning Sun scandal.

This was met with many positive wishes for supporters of the company who were hoping to see YG stocks stabilize for a year.It can be recalled that Hana Financial Firm earlier released a projection that YG's stock will depend on whether four members of BIGBANG including G-Dragon, T.O.P, Taeyang and Daesung will renew their contracts with the label.

After completing their military enlistment last year, four members lied low in the music scene, leading to worries that they might be opting to leave the agency after all.

Early this year, YG announced that BIGBANG will make its comeback stage at the Coachella Music Festival in California in April. However, the event was postponed due to concerns about the Coronavirus.

YG announced the good news to BIGBANG's VIP fandom and said: "Going beyond musical influence, BIGBANG has changed the course of Korean pop culture. YG will continue to support BIGBANG so that they can continue to make K-pop history as a representative group of our label."

BIGBANG is expected to make a comeback in 2020 which will lead the path to other major activities like the BLACKPINK comeback, iKON activities as a six-member group, the launch of new boy group TREASURE, and plans to debut a new girl group.
