Princess Diana's parenting style is now influencing her two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry. The late Princess of Wales was known for letting her kids experience to have normal lives, despite being born in the royal family.
In New Idea's ROYALS podcast with Zoe Burrell, known journalist Angela Mollard discussed the royal children were being brought up. The Cambridges were doing an excellent job in trying to give Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis ordinary lives.
"From William, I think we get the Princess Diana influence," she said, via Express. "Princess Diana was the first real royal mum to submerge her children in ordinary life."
When they were young, Princess Diana brought Prince William and Prince Harry to theme parks, McDonald's, and they went and visited the homeless and AIDs patients. She tried to show her kids the privilege they had in a way that the previous royal generations didn't.
Mollard continued to say that Queen Elizabeth II got educated by the governesses. She was brought up in places by her nannies. The royal kids then were shielded from the outside world. Now, they were practiced to immerse themselves in it.
Compared to other royal kids, the Cambridges' children are the most famous ones, and their parents are doing a "tremendous job" by giving them the most normal childhood that they possibly can. They can be seen enjoying their time at Anmer Hall and Sandringham. People also see their Christmas photos, and Kate Middleton lets them go out in nature and enjoy their surroundings.
Prince William is not the only one who inherits his mother's parenting style but Prince Harry, too. In the ITV documentary Secrets of the Royal Babies: Meghan and Harry, royal biographer Duncan Larcombe revealed that Princess Diana also influences the Duke of Sussex.
According to Daily Mail, Princess Diana's desire to give the two royal brothers normal lives as much as possible already runs through Prince William and Prince Harry's veins. It made a mark in their minds, so as they are now parents themselves, they are following the practice.
ABC News royal correspondent Victoria Arbiter added that her children would forever cherish princess Diana's long-lasting legacy of taking them outside the palace walls. In an interview with Katie Couric in 2012, Prince William said his mother played a huge part in their lives growing up, from the way they saw things to how they experienced it.
