Prince Philip has been living peacefully and privately in Sandringham amid his retirement. Since 2017, he has stayed in the estate which is why he has been rarely seen in public events.
But, due to the recent series of unfortunate events, several royal fans and followers have been wanting to know how he is doing these days. Not to mention, he just had a health scare ahead of Christmas.
Even so, Prince Philip was immediately released just in time for the holiday celebration. While his case was not fully disclosed, reports claimed that he has been better.
However, the COVID-19 outbreak cases in the United Kingdom are reportedly increasing. At the time of writing, 21 deaths have been declared with over 1140 confirmed cases. These figures actually "doubled" in just within 24 hours. It is no wonder why the general public is now alarmed and concerned.
It was said that the most susceptible to contracting the virus are the elderly. This is why many are concerned for Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II.
According to Express UK, Buckingham Palace and the Queen are now being prepared for an "emergency lockdown." As for the Duke of Edinburgh, it was shared that he previously revealed before the public that he has not obtained the flu for four decades now.
The unearthed revelation just came in after the shocking rise in the number of COVID-19 positive cases in the United Kingdom. It was also said that Prince Philip likely has a very strong immune system.
As explained by an expert, Dr. Pi Yu Lin reportedly said that he may have developed "immunity" as it is possible despite his old age. She further shared that the royal may also have had the "sub-clinical infection."
It was revealed that due to having a strong immune system, the body immediately fights off the virus without having the person feeling "unwell" or experiencing the symptoms. One has had the virus but, doesn't get the symptoms, she added.
Even so, the publication reported that the former Press Secretary, Dick Arbiter, has "warned" that Prince Philip is now 98-year-old, and turning 99 in June. He deemed the royal as "frail." Therefore, extra caution must be observed.
He also said that it is only suitable for the Duke of Edinburgh to stay in Sandringham, just like he did these past few months. Besides, several reports claimed that Queen Elizabeth II may be forced to stay in the estate as well to "self-isolate."
