After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle finish all their royal engagements, they are now set to officially step down as senior members of the royal family on March 31. Although they already planned their next step following their departure from the monarchy, a royal commentator claimed that they are also "fearful" of what their life will be like outside the U.K.
Royal commentator Omid Scobie revealed that the Sussexes were very emotional when they said goodbye to their staff. From here, they started to fear what their future would be like without them by their side.
He told Access Hollywood, as noted by Daily Mail, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were very thankful of their loyal staff, who helped them organized their tours and engagements. They were also the ones who tried to defend them from the negative reports and fend off the tabloids' attacks.
Scobie added that saying goodbye to their staff wasn't only a sad ending for Meghan Markle but also a relationship they hard while working together. "The emotions were really heightened, and there were tears and hugs," he revealed.
The Duchess of Sussex appreciated all the work that their small team did for them. No wonder they all turned like a family to the royal couple for being the group that made everything happened for them.
Hence, for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, to leave them behind will make them fear for the future, as they have to start with anew with a new group. "That is going to take some time to really get used to," Scobie said.
Aside from their fears, the royal expert also reflected on the sacrifices they did as part of their decision to step back from their royal duties. He believed that along with their sacrifices, they lose a lot of privileges as they are about to lose their royal titles, Express reported.
Prince Harry gave up his honoree military titles, which is undoubtedly a tough move for him. So why are they doing these all? Scobie is convinced that the most significant factor that influenced their decision is their son, Archie Harrison.
They wanted to keep him safe and away from all the toxic forces in their lives, particularly the British tabloids. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are doing everything for their kid, hoping that in the long run, the safety they are dreaming of will come their way.
