Legacies season 2 episode 16 is set to air next week on The CW, with the title "Facing Darkness Is Kinda My Thing." It seems like this episode will be the last one, and may likely serve as the finale as well. A lot of shows have been shutting down production due to COVID-19 concerns and most of these series are also cutting down episodes.
Now, it seems like Legacies season 2 episode 16 will serve as the season finale of The CW series. In a recent post via Twitter, executive producer and showrunner Julie Plec said that the episode could end up serving as the big-send off. She noted that they completed filming the series through this episode, which is a "fun accidental season finale with a good cliffhanger."
Plec further said the episode will be "temporarily satisfying" until they're able to go back and finish the rest. Yet, everything could still change depending on the COVID-19 pandemic and state of health of the country. For now, this episode serves as the season finale just in case the cast and crew members won't be able to come back this season and the unfinished episodes may likely air in season 3.
According to CarterMatt, it doesn't mean that the third installment will be longer than season 2. Originally, there were 20 episodes set to air this season along with the 20 for Supernatural. And although season 3 may pick up the remaining episodes on the current season, things may still change at some point. But for now, the next episode will serve as the season finale.
As for what's coming in Legacies season 2 episode 16, the gang needs to do whatever they can to save Josie. Hope, in particular, will try to help and save Josie by infiltrating her subconscious. But then, she finds herself in a fairytale world filled with dark magic. Also, Alaric, Lizzie, and the Super Squad come up with a risky plan to save Josie, but their actions may have some potential consequences.
A lot of problems and challenges are coming to most of the characters, but there are still some fun moments within the episode. What's also cool about this episode is that the production team was able to create a world full of surprises. Since this may also serve as the season finale, viewers can expect some twists and turns, as well as a huge cliffhanger.
