It has been weeks now since the novel coronavirus emerged in various locations across the globe. Aside from politicians and world leaders who have already confirmed their positive cases, several celebrities also revealed their apparent contraction amid the outbreak.

According to Insider, numerous personalities from different industries have already confirmed their respective cases with the public. Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson were one of the first pairs of prominent personalities who reportedly tested positive for the virus.

The public was reportedly shocked upon learning their current conditions. But, the couple was said to be now recovering from the contraction. It was also said that they were updating their fans and followers through social media about the new updates regarding their cases.

Idris Elba's confirmation before the public also followed after a few celebrities revealed their cases. It was noted by the same publication that the links between him and Canada's Prime Minister's wife, Sophia Grégoire Trudeau are still being looked upon since she also tested positive for COVID-19. As it happened, the English actor attended an event in London where Sophia delivered a speech just prior to confirming her contraction.

Game of Thrones' actor, Kristofer Hivju has been also added to the list of celebrities who tested positive for the virus. He reportedly revealed that he has been "self-isolating" with his family since the results came out. He also went on to urge everyone to "stay healthy" and "keep [the] distance."

Hivju's co-star from the same HBO series, Indira Varma also said that she has tested positive for COVID-19.

Frozen 2 voice actress, Rachel Matthews also took her case to social media and shared that she has been in quarantine for the last week. However, she mentioned in her post that she still has no idea what will be the next step due to the "mixed information" she has been receiving. Even so, she said that she will be updating her fans and followers.

Outside the film and movie industry, celebrities from the world of sports have been also confirming their positive results. As per Glamour, Utah Jazz players, Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell were the first NBA players who confirmed their virus contraction. This also prompted for the current season to be suspended.

Kevin Durant had the same result, as well as the other three NBA players from the Brooklyn Nets. Chelsea soccer player, Callum Hudson-Odoi also joined the list of all the celebrities from the sports industry who have tested positive for COVID-19.
