Robert Pattinson would be playing the role of Batman on the big screen. While waiting for the movie, some found a connection between the actor and the iconic character even before he was cast for the role and that is Kristen Stewart.

Both Pattinson and Stewart rose to fame in the Twilight saga. They played lovers in one of the most successful movie franchises in history. Off cam, they were also a real-life couple.

As many have known, Leto also played the villain Joker in DC Films' Suicide Squad. Though the Caped Crusader's greatest enemy or Leto will not be appearing in Pattinson's The Batman movie, some fans found connection between Pattinson and his Batman character before he landed on the role.

Prior to Twilight, 12-year-old Kristen Stewart played the role of Jodie Foster's daughter in the 2002 thriller movie, Panic Room. Jared Leto was also in the movie. He played the role of Junior, one of the burglars who broke into the home of Meg (Foster) and Sarah Altman (Stewart).

It's been 18 years since Stewart and Leto worked together in Panic Room. It is unclear if the two became close friends while filming the movie, but their names have been linked in many occasions.

In 2010, there have been reports that the Dallas Buyers Club actor tried to attend Stewart's Sundance party for her film, Runaways. Unfortunately, he was denied entry. In Leto's Q&A on Twitter in 2013, a fan asked the actor how he felt about Stewart. He simply wrote, "Love."

Meanwhile, The Batman is one of the movies that halt production because of the coronavirus outbreak across the globe. Pattinson's movie is supposed to hit cinemas in June 2021. However, its premiere date could be delayed as it wasn't clear when the filming of The Batman will resume.

The movie filmed some scenes last month in Glasgow, Scotland. Then, Warner Bros. decided to move production to Liverpool in England because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The production studio did not plan to suspend shooting on The Batman at first but later on, did so because of the outbreak in Europe.

There have been rumors that Johnny Depp will play the role of Joker in The Batman but DC Film and Warner Bros have yet to confirm it. Aside from Pattinson, the superhero movie also stars Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, and Colin Farrel as Penguin.
