Meghan Markle, reportedly, suffered from panic attacks and anxiety while she was still a senior member of the royal family. Specifically, the tabloid reports apparently brought chaos in the life of the former Hollywood TV actress.

A source told Us Weekly that Meghan was nervous to step out of the house and do her royal duties knowing that the British tabloid press will have negative stuff to report about her. The phobia apparently became too serious that the Duchess of Sussex felt "trapped and claustrophobic" as a full-time working member of the royal family.

Meghan admitted on national television in October 2019 that she felt extremely vulnerable against the media spotlight hovering over the royals. Speaking with Tom Brady for ITV, the Duchess of Sussex said that she expected the media attention but she did not expect that she would be treated unfairly.

Royal fans accuse the British tabloid press of publishing stories that painted Meghan in the negative light. She was also the subject of racist headlines and unfair comparisons to Kate Middleton, her sister-in-law.

The media's treatment prompted Prince Harry to file three lawsuits against the tabloid press. The Duke of Sussex said that he can no longer sit back and watch his wife suffer against the very institution that also killed his mother, Princess Diana. This also pushed Prince Harry and Meghan to step back as working royals last January.

On March 31, Prince Harry and Meghan will officially be private citizens after weeks of discussing their new roles with Queen Elizabeth. Because they have also chosen to live half their life in North America, Meghan is, reportedly, thrilled that she has finally escaped the craziness in London.

According to a friend, Meghan feels like a new person now that she and Prince Harry have stepped back as senior royals. She can finally enjoy not having to deal with dress codes and protocols while living in Canada.

Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are self-isolating in their rented home in Vancouver. Following their trip to London, Prince Harry and Meghan have not been going out and following the orders of the local government to stay at home.

According to Fox News, Meghan has been video chatting and exchanging recipes with her friends while in a temporary lockdown. Prince Harry also spoke with his father, Prince Charles, after he learned he was positive for COVID-19. The Prince of Wales is also in self-isolation in Scotland while experiencing mild symptoms.
