WARNING: This article may contain spoilers for Law & Order: SVU season 21 episode 18. Read at your own risk.

Law & Order: SVU season 21 episode 18 is set to arrive next week on NBC, with the title "Garland's Baptism by Fire." This episode will see one of the characters in a difficult situation, and the title alone already suggests that Chief Garland would be the center of it.

In Law & Order: SVU season 21 episode 18, Chief Garland needs to set aside his friendship after a pastor at his church has been arrested. Although he is in a difficult situation, Garland needs to recognize that he should make a just decision -- even if he knows the person in question.

Perhaps, he may proceed with the case and will try to find out the truth about the arrest of the pastor. There is a chance this person was framed up, or it's also possible he really did something wrong that's why he was arrested. This case may also lead Garland on discovering more about the pastor.

Meanwhile, there wouldn't be a promo for the upcoming episode. Showrunner Warren Leight revealed earlier this week they will not be releasing the promo of next week's episode due to several reasons. He said that it's hard for overworked post and promo departments to cut promos and then get approvals.

Due to the current situation of the world, most have been relocated to working from home. Leight said it would be hard for them to get the promo air-ready at the moment. There is a lot of work that needed to be done and it may take a lot of time before releasing a promo of an episode.

Although the episode doesn't have a promo, the good news is that there are a few guest stars appearing in Law & Order: SVU season 21 episode 18. It has been confirmed that Rick Fox, Aunjanue Ellis, Roger Cross, Demore Barnes are all appearing in the next episode.

Casting has always been one of the strengths of the series. It delivers challenging cases, but it also adds some fantastic set of guest stars. That thing wouldn't change as we're inching closer to the season finale, so expect more new faces appearing before the season ends.

Yet, it seems like the current season will not be ending as originally planned. It can be noted that filming was shut down because of COVID-19 concerns. If ever, some of the remaining episodes that weren't filmed might be part of the potential season 22.

Law & Order: SVU season 21 episode 18 airs on Thursday night, Apr. 2, on NBC.
