Jimmy Kimmel continues his show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, by having guests virtually amid the coronavirus outbreak. For his latest episode, presidential candidate Joe Biden joined the 52-year-old host and talked about his presidential campaign, and how President Donald Trump handles the pandemic that is now affecting the U.S. The former vice president seems to hit out at the POTUS for his slow response to the widespread of the disease.
The 77-year-old politician was filming from his recreation room. The talk was made in a video call after the federal government and the state governments asked everyone to stay at home and practice social distancing.
According to Celebrity Insider, Joe Biden has been following this measure, although he said he is not "officially quarantined." So, what has he been doing at home all the while? He said he is busy doing a lot more cooking and spending a lot of time speaking with governors and other elected officials about the coronavirus.
He then took the opportunity to talk about Donald Trump's move to combat the widespread of coronavirus in the U.S. The candidate for the 2020 presidential election admitted that he wasn't pleased with the way the president handles things, thus far, especially how he and his administration make decisions.
Joe Biden told Jimmy Kimmel that although coronavirus wasn't Donald Trump's fault, Biden suggested that Trump could "speed things up in terms of how they respond to it." Biden questioned why Trump couldn't help some states to acquire the medical supplies, like masks, they needed.
As the president, Joe Biden understands that he has the power to make big decisions, but he is not doing so. He believes Melania Trump's husband is not doing the "rational" thing to do.
In a press conference, Donald Trump said that it would be faster if the states would get their supplies. He also claimed that business might be open once again by Easter time, although that seemed to be false.
Meanwhile, with the current crisis the whole world is experiencing, the 77-year-old presidential hopeful said everyone seemed to forget about the upcoming presidential election. So, when Jimmy Kimmel talked about the possibility that Joe Biden would choose a female running mate for his campaign, he asked if how many women he's considering for the position.
"Well, we're just getting started," he said, Rolling Stone noted. "I'm putting together the committee."
Joe Biden revealed he spoke with former President Barack Obama and asked how he put his committee together, how many people he put together to build it, and what traits he was looking for in a vice president. To answer Jimmy Kimmel's question, he said there were about five or seven people, and there are a lot of qualified persons out there.
