As the number of COVID-19 case increases in the United States, several officials, reportedly, took the test to ensure their health before the public. These officials mainly included the First Couple, Melania Trump and Donald Trump.

According to Express UK, the couple was administered with the coronavirus test on March 13. It took over a week before the US President announced that he has tested negative.

On the other hand, it was only recently when Melania's test result was announced. As stated by her husband and the White House's Press Secretary, the First Lady of the United States has tested negative for the virus as well.

It was noted that the revelation came after reporters asked Donald Trump about Melania Trump's current condition. He, reportedly, shared that his wife also took the test on the same day that he did. He also told the reporters that Melania's "fine."

This exchange of information was, later on, followed by an official statement from the Press Secretary, Stephanie Grisham. She, reportedly, spoke with CNN and confirmed that the First Lady has tested negative for COVID-19.

She then explained that the test was also administered to Melania "out of an abundance of caution." As it happened, several individuals who they interacted with in previous weeks have been found to have tested positive for the virus.

However, this still, reportedly, poses the question as to why Melania Trump took the test. As claimed, she did not show any symptoms of contracting the virus.

The reports noted that the US Vice President, Mike Pence, who also took the test alongside his wife, reminded the American people that they should not take the test if no symptoms manifest. He also, reportedly, shared that this is another way how the American public can ensure the preservation of the resources that the frontliners need in responding to the virus outbreak in the country, as well as to the other illnesses.

No comments were heard from the East Wing after several individuals argued that Melania Trump, alongside other government officials, should not have taken the test considering that they did now manifest any symptoms at all.

Unfortunately, previous reports claimed that there was a shortage of COVID-19 testing kits in the United States. Donald Trump was then said to "take no responsibility" at all over the limited availability of the kits. It was also revealed that he seemingly put the blame on the previous administration when he said that the current government has been just following the guidelines that were set by the previous officials.
