Donald Trump has been facing a lot of criticisms and objections from both officials and citizens of the United States. Amid the worsening case of COVID-19 in the United States, it has appeared that the public is blaming the US President for his actions.

Before the month of March concluded, the United States, unfortunately, surpassed Italy's and China's tallied number of confirmed cases. While the European country has remained at the top of the list for being the country that has the highest number of deaths due to the virus, it was asserted that the United States might even exceed Italy in this aspect.

As of today, 215,344 Americans have tested positive for COVID-19 with a total of 5,112 deaths. It was said that it is only recently when the surge in numbers started. As alleged, Donald Trump's "mismanagement" of the situation fueled the further spread of the virus in the United States.

According to Politico, several past and current officials in the government conceded that the blame must be put on the President's head. It was reported that the first cases of the virus contraction in the country started in the last few days of January.

While early warnings and data were, reportedly, given to the Oval Office since the coronavirus came into their radar, sources revealed that they were not given importance or attention. As added, Donald Trump openly downplayed the potential risk of the virus inflicting a serious crisis in the US.

The publication shared that there were officials who were interviewed about the issue. Based on the assertions, it was said that the US President was "painted" as a leader who "rewards" those people who would tell him pleasant updates, or the things he would want to hear. Conversely, he was, reportedly, "shunning" the people who have bad news for him.

After more than a month of waiting for Donald Trump's directives, it was only then when he, reportedly, decided to declare a national crisis. The Guardian UK also reported that the US President even said that he does "not take any responsibility" at all for the government's failure to provide enough and reliable testing kits amid the outbreak.

This declaration was followed by several addresses from the White House. Before the latest address, Donald Trump, reportedly, planned to re-open the country by Easter, which has met tons of objections and criticisms from the public.

However, the tone of his address, reportedly, changed during his most recent announcement. It was said that he "finally" realized the severity of the situation, especially after learning from experts that the death toll in the United States may reach up to 240,000 even if social distancing guidelines are followed.
