Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's decision to step down as senior members of the royal family has been compared to Princess Diana's departure from the monarchy following her divorce from Prince Charles. With the relentless following of the British press and the adverse reports, the Duchess of Sussex is also being likened to the late Princess of Wales. But now that they are non-working royals and have, reportedly, moved to Los Angeles, California, there are assumptions that the Sussexes are trying to fulfill the People's Princess' broken dream.

There are reports that the couple is eyeing to live in a Malibu mansion as they may be deciding to live permanently in the United States instead of Canada after their royal exit. According to Daily Mail, the property is close to the Tuscan-style villa that Dodi Fayed bought before he and Princess Diana died in 1997.

Paul Burrell, the former royal butler of Prince Charles' wife, claimed that Princess Diana was planning to move to the Malibu home that Dodi Fayed purchased to avoid the British press in the United Kingdom. "This is our new life; just won't it be great," he revealed Diana told him in an interview with ABC News in 2007. "Nobody's judgmental here in America, and you don't have the class system, you don't have the establishment."

BBC reported that Princess Diana was often in the news both in the negative and positive ways. Her charity works and private life always ended up in the headlines, not just in the U.K. but around the world. With Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal exit, there were questions if she would be supportive of her son or not.

The Duke of Sussex said that "history is repeating itself" with what his wife has been through with the media. After he lost his mother, his wife is now falling victim to the same forces that killed his mom.

A source told The Sun that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, allegedly, want to be close to their new team of Hollywood agents, PRs, and the latter's mother, Doria Ragland. Now that they are in L.A., they are believed to be following the lockdown with their 10-month-old son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

It remains to be seen if the two will choose to live in Malibu, but this place is said to be the logical choice for them. It has "one of the most expensive ZIP codes and boasts a stunning coastline." The home, called Petra Manor, also has its own tennis court and swimming pool, costing around $20 million or $15,950 a night.

Anyhow, insiders told DailyMailTV that they still want to try what their lives might be in Malibu before they finally settle down. But for a pair who want some privacy, away from the prying eyes of the British press, this secluded area may be the best for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who are also both nature-loving.
