Now that Meghan Markle is no longer a senior member of the royal family, rumors have it Kate Middleton seems to be more relaxed and confident. Gone are the times that the Duchess of Cambridge has to up her fashion game, as she now opts for simpler clothes. Why? Sources claimed that Prince William's wife now feels more secured that she doesn't have to compete with the Duchess of Sussex anymore when it comes to fashion and style.

The future queen consort returns to "much simpler" hair and fashion style this year. Allegedly, she now feels more comfortable after Prince Harry, and his wife stepped back from their royal roles and left the United Kingdom for Canada. They later moved to Los Angeles.

"Someone who knows Kate well said 'the atmosphere since the Sussexes left has noticeably improved," an insider told The Sun. Now, Kate Middleton doesn't feel she has to compete with Meghan Markle. Hence, she returns to her "much simpler style."

Meghan Markle's arrival to the U.K., allegedly, made Kate Middleton "slightly intimidated." She was afraid to be compared to the former actress' fashion sense. Meghan took the country by storm through her "Meghan Effect." She was said to be the one who looked "more glamorous and popular" for a while compared to Kate.

Now that they are no longer senior royals, the pressure Kate Middleton felt was already slightly lifted. Her makeup artist, Arabella Preston, now uses less eye makeup on her, paler lip colors and more high-street nail colors in more subtle shades. She also wears less makeup today and incredibly looks happy, relaxed, and is wearing high Street clothes.

According to Daily Express, when Kate Middleton visited the NHS 111 call center in Croydon, she only wore a "blush high street suit" from Marks & Spencer. She even seemed to re-wear the suit in a photo Kensington Palace shared last week while she was working from home due to the coronavirus outbreak and the U.K. lockdown.

In the snap, Kate Middleton could be seen busy on the phone. "Self-isolation and social distancing can pose huge challenges to our mental health," the caption read. Both Kate and Prince William were busy talking to organizations and patronages to understand the problems they were all facing due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Prince William and Meghan Markle, on the other hand, moved to Los Angeles from Canada before the borders shut down also due to the crisis after they stepped down as senior royals on March 31. They dropped their bombshell announcement about leaving the monarchy in January.
