If he'd have it his way, Prince Charles would like to be out there and resume his royal duties to help in the fight against coronavirus. The Prince of Wales is apparently eager to get back to work and do more to lead the royal family in this global crisis.

According to a source, Prince Charles has been willing to take in more work on behalf of his mother, Queen Elizabeth. The monarch is not advised to do her royal engagements since she is most vulnerable to coronavirus as a 93-year-old.

The source told The Sun that Prince Charles understands "the burden of responsibility on the Royal Family" to show the country they are there for support. But Prince Charles had to be sidelined a few weeks ago after he was positive for COVID-19.

Remarkably, the heir to the throne suffered minor symptoms of the dreaded virus only and was out of self-isolation after seven days. Meanwhile, Prince Charles' own heir, Prince William, was able to visit NHS workers, along with Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, to extend their thanks and support from the royal family.

The source said that Prince Charles would like to share this kind of workload with Prince William. The 71-year-old royal wants to be in the front and center of providing support where it's needed.

However, no one from his royal aides want to risk the Prince of Wales' health even if he is getting better after his coronavirus scare. Experts are still unsure if those who have had the virus can be infected again.

This news comes as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, was taken into the ICU because his coronavirus symptoms have worsened after 10 days. Prince Charles reached out, via the Clarence House's social media accounts, for the official's speedy recovery.

Johnson, 55, is, reportedly, getting oxygen treatment to help with his breathing. Contrary to previous reports, however, the prime minister is not under ventilation and he can breathe on his own.

Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab is currently the deputy prime minister while Johnson is in recovery.  He said that Johnson's original orders to stay at home is still in place. Because of this rule, Prince Charles have been going to work virtually and through video conferencing since he should not be exposed to the virus. In fat, the Prince of Wales was present via video when London opened its new and massive hospital to treat COVID-19 patients.
