Mingyu celebrated his 23rd birthday on April 6 and fans were quick to find clever ways to pay tribute to the SEVENTEEN member. Some posted sweet messages for Kim Mingyu on social media and even tried to reach out to him on the group's official WeVerse. Interestingly, even Mingyu's fellow members greeted their companion on the platform. However, the rapper still found a way to make sure his fans were a part of his special day.
For his birthday, Mingyu decided to go on VLive so he could interact with Carats. During his broadcast, fellow SEVENTEEN member Wonwoo even called in to greet him on his birthday. Although Jeon Wonwoo initially didn't know that Kim Mingyu was live, he begged his fellow rapper not to put him on speaker phone. Nevertheless, Mingyu put him on speaker phone and even revealed that Wonwoo was just getting ready to go to sleep although it was in the afternoon.
Interestingly, Mingyu revealed that his fellow SEVENTEEN members gave him some cool birthday presents. He shared that Jeonghan bought him clothes that he has previously pointed out, stating that he was moved that his hyung remembered which items to pick. In addition to that, The8 reportedly gave him eight bottles of wine and that his wine refrigerator would be full for several months. Moreover, Kim Mingyu stated that he was expecting to get new camera lenses from fellow rapper Wonwoo.
But what did Hoshi get for Mingyu on the latter's birthday? Interestingly, Kim Mingyu revealed that Kwon Soonyoung has not yet given him a present but had previously stated that he will get Mingyu anything that he wants. This is when Mingyu admitted that he wanted a new MacBook but claimed he was too shy to ask his hyung. He then told fans to help him convince Hoshi to buy him a new laptop.

However, it is still unclear whether Hoshi actually saw the trend or if he is aware that Mingyu is asking for a MacBook.
