The coronavirus outbreak and lockdown in the United Kingdom doesn't only cancel a lot of events but people's plans for the Easter week, too. As the Easter Sunday is fast approaching, a lot of families' arrangement for celebrating is, undoubtedly, altered, including that of Prince William and Kate Middleton. But as nothing can stop them from giving their kids a little normalcy amid the Covid-19 pandemic, the Cambridges revealed how they would celebrate this year.
As the U.K. government ordered everyone to practice social distancing and avoid big gatherings, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, along with their kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, will celebrate Easter at their home in Anmer Hall. Here, despite the lockdown, the royal couple is also continuously working and performing their royal duties remotely through phone and video calls.
In one of their virtual meetings this week, Prince William and Kate Middleton could be seen giving their utmost gratitude to teachers, who also continuously do their work amid the coronavirus outbreak. These workers give their students, whose parents are considered frontliners, a safe space to continue their studies, Town & Country reported.
The future queen consort commended their move, saying it must be a huge relief for parents to know that their kids still feel a little bit of normality amid this time of crisis. She also praised their structure and the safe place they got for their students and complimented their "well-done work."
During the video call, Prince William also revealed the little plan they got to celebrate Easter with their kids this year, and it involved a lot of chocolates. "There'll be a lot of chocolate eaten here, don't worry," he said after wishing the teachers a happy Easter. "You keep eating it," Kate Middleton retorted, teasing her husband.
Aside from eating chocolates, it is also likely that they will put on an Easter egg hunt on the grounds of Anmer Hall to celebrate Easter Sunday. With their home's extensive gardens, it is an ideal place for Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis to look for the Easter eggs.
To recall, according to Daily Express, Kate Middleton told children gathered outside St George's in 2018 that Prince George and Princess Charlotte enjoyed an Easter egg hunt that morning. They might recreate the fun this year with the addition of Prince Louis.
The month of April is also a special one for Prince William and Kate Middleton. Aside from Prince Louis' birthday on April 23, it is also their ninth wedding anniversary on April 29.
