In the 68 years of her reign, Queen Elizabeth II, as well as the rest of the British Royal Family, has become the center of many documentaries and similar materials that the public has come to love and watch. But, it has appeared that among all of these materials, Netflix's The Crown is one of today's most-followed and praised series for its overall structure.

The third season of the show just recently dropped in at the platform. While it will likely take another two years before the next installment arrives, several avid fans are very keen to know all of the details that come with it, which largely includes the curiosity over the actual members of the Royal Family. As it happens, many are reportedly interested to know whether the members of the family, especially Queen Elizabeth II, are also watching the series.

According to The Oprah Magazine, several sources attested that there are a few British royals who have been following and watching the Netflix material. It was said that one of them is the Queen, herself, who has been the main subject of the show.

Although she never spoke of it before the public, some senior royal sources reportedly said that Prince Edward and Sophie, the Countess of Wessex are the ones who should be credited for it. As stated, the Wessex couple is the reason why Queen Elizabeth II watches The Crown, and loves it.

The Earl and Countess are reportedly huge fans of the series. It was claimed that, every Sunday, they share an "informal supper" with the British Monarch, wherein they also watch the said show.

Aside from the Wessex couple, it was also noted that Princess Eugenie finds The Crown a very entertaining material since it is "filmed beautifully." However, despite the assertions seemingly proving that the Queen watches the Netflix material, Cosmopolitan reported that the Head of the British Monarchy did not like how the show portrayed her husband, Prince Philip, especially in Season 2.

It was explained by the said sources that Queen Elizabeth II found the portrayal of her husband as "annoying" particularly when his character was depicted as an "insensitive father" to Prince Charles. As for the Duke of Edinburgh, though, the publication said that he is one of the royals who do not watch The Crown.

Alongside his grandfather, Prince William does not also reportedly watch the series. The reports said that the actress who played the Queen's character in Season 3, Olivia Colman confirmed it when she met with the Duke of Cambridge.
