The planned tell-all interview featuring Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, might not work to her advantage. Royal experts said that she must avoid, rather than pursue, this interview as it could backfire on her.

Daily Express reported that some royal fans think it will not be a good idea for Meghan to sit down and reveal details of her royal life to the public. Princess Diana did the same in the early 1990s after the breakdown of her marriage to Prince Charles. Most recently, Prince Andrew also did a tell-all interview with BBC over his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein.

Both times, Princess Diana and Prince Andrew earned some backlash for doing a tell-all. According to royal biographer Penny Juror, Princess Diana's interview made Queen Elizabeth lose her patience thus she finally agreed for Prince Charles to divorce his wife. Prince Andrew, on the other hand, was forced to retire as a working royal to save the royal family from further embarrassment.

Sources said that Prince Harry was considering letting Meghan sit down with Winfrey because they could use the money from the interview to help with the coronavirus efforts or to fund their new foundation, Archewell. Apparently, the offer for Meghan to sit down and reveal her struggles as a royal could earn them a million dollars for the exclusive.

However, some royal experts think that while they can earn big money for this, they will lose so much more when it comes to public opinion. Doing the tell-all will apparently prove that Meghan only married Prince Harry for the money and publicity.

Meanwhile, rumors that Winfrey will be interviewing Meghan surfaced in the past as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were still working out their issues with Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles. The media mogul has also been blamed for apparently advising Prince Harry and Meghan to quit their royal roles.

Winfrey addressed these rumors and said that the decision is all of their own. Winfrey said that royal family, even Queen Elizabeth, knew that Prince Harry and Meghan would be stepping back, as they were contemplating on this dilemma for several months.

She said that Prince Harry and Meghan do not need her help in figuring out what they want to do with their lives. Winfrey also said that she cares and support the Sussexes but she didn't confirm if she was going to interview Meghan or the couple.
