High School Musical fans were surely excited to see their favorite cast reunited, although virtually, for an epic performance of "We're All in This Together" during Disney Family Singalong to fight the coronavirus outbreak. Although some wondered why Zac Efron didn't sign along with the rest of the group, they were excited when he introduced his former girlfriend, Vanessa Hudgens.

It has been ten years since Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens broke up, but their romance is still fresh in people's minds. Thanks to the High School Musical director Kenny Ortega, they are once again reunited, along with the show's other cast, and other of his productions' stars from Descendants, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, and Zombies, HollywoodLife noted.

Although Zac Efron didn't join the performance, it looks like fans already forgave him after he introduced Vanessa Hudgens. They all performed from their own homes, along with Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman, and Lucas Grabeel.

Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens met on the set of High School Musical in 2005. While their characters as Gabriella Montez and Troy Bolton fell in love on-screen, they also became real-life sweethearts. They used to be one of the most famous favorite teen couples of their time until they called it quits in 2010. Since their time in the Disney series ended, fans had been begging for their reunion since then.

So, when Ashley Tisdale filmed herself dancing to "We're All in This Together" on TikTok, followed by Vanessa Hudgens herself, a reunion started buzzing since then. The High School Musical cast later got reunited on a Zoom video call, although Zac Efron was missing.

As one of High School Musical favorites, fans wondered why Zac Efron was not part of the Zoom reunion. Kenny Ortega told Deadline that the 32-year-old actor managed to join in the last minute because they couldn't reach him earlier in the day. Anyhow, when they finally contacted him, he immediately jumped in.

"Everyone we reached out to was quick-and you'll see it in their spirit and the way they come together from their homes," Kenny Ortega said. "They recognize this is an opportunity to strengthen spirits for those joining us for the broadcast."

Zac Efron also managed to join their official televised reunion. Aside from High School Musical, The Disney Family Singalong also featured performances from Christina Aguilera, Demi Lovato, John Stamos, Thomas Rhett, Ariana Grande, and a lot more.
