Emperor Lee Gon will continue to annoy detective Jung Tae Eul in the upcoming The King: Eternal Monarch Episode 3. But the king from the other alternate universe has another concern to worry about: his health. It looks like Lee Gon will be having a health scare in the next episode.

The heartthrob king has finally met the hard-working lady detective and learned a little bit about her, enough to trust his beloved Maximus to her. While Lee Gon (Lee Min Ho) quickly understands that he is in another universe, Tae Eul (Kim Go Eun) doesn't believe that he is not from her world.

As she tries to figure out the identity of the handsome man who roams the city on a white horse, Tae Eul slowly learns things about Lee Gon that she finds odd. Aside from persistently claiming that he is the king of the Kingdom of Korea and asking her to be his Queen, Lee Gon's fingerprint doesn't have a match in their system. Moreover, he wears a coat that has accents made of rare diamonds and carries 100 thousand won with his face on it.

In the upcoming The King: Eternal Monarch Episode 3, Lee Gon will feel the effect of crossing the portal at the bamboo forest. The teaser for the episode shows the king in pain.

A man can be heard saying that the pain could be the effect of crossing the door to the other word. Lee Gon looks worried as he holds his shoulder.

The clip also showed Lee Rim (Lee Jung Jin). In the pilot episode, Lee Rim escaped to modern-world Korea after killing his half-brother, the King, who was Lee Gon's father.

After 25 years, he returned to the empire but he did not age at all. In upcoming episodes, Lee Gon could find out that his uncle, who they believed died 25 years ago, is still alive.

The teaser for Episode 3 also shows Tae Eul arguing with Lee Gon once again. He then threatens her that whoever disagrees with the King receives a beheading punishment.

Elsewhere, Tae Eul's friend and fellow police officer Kang Shin Jae (Kim Kyung Nam) shows interest in the insignia of the Kingdom of Korea. In the previous episode, Shin Jae was seen drawing the symbol on her notepad.

It is still unclear how Shin Jae knows about the symbol. In the teaser for Episode 3, he was seen comparing his drawing to what seems to be a metal sealing stamp owned by the previous king of Korea.

In the other world, Jo Young, the Royal Guard captain and Lee Gon's best friend, never stops looking for the king. Jo Young believes that something happened to his friend as he hasn't returned to the palace since he followed the "white rabbit" in the forest.

The King: Eternal Monarch airs every Fridays and Saturdays on SBS. Episode 3 airs on April 24 at 10 p.m. KST. It is available via Netflix.
