It looks like the United Kingdom citizens are not satisfied with how Prince Harry and Meghan Markle respond on the royal family's fight against the coronavirus outbreak. As the negative opinions on the Sussexes grow, the Britons seem to be uninterested in seeing them back in Britain.
Redfield & Wilton Strategies conducted a survey, via Newsweek, to know the public's impression on the royal family's response against COVID-19. It was made at the time when Queen Elizabeth II was giving a historical speech on television, while Prince William and Kate Middleton were doing video chats to perform their royal duties continuously.
As Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have yet to return to work during the poll, people's impressions of them worsened. Fifty-four percent said the two should not return to their duties as senior royals, while 28 percent wanted them to continue their works for the monarchy. Eighteen percent were undecided.
About 15,000 Britons were asked how their views about the royal family as they fight the coronavirus outbreak in the country. When asked about the Duchess of Sussex, 20 percent said they saw her more positively, while 36 percent more negatively.
Prince Harry got a 19 percent positive response and 33 percent negative. Although 18-34 age group participants revealed that their support for the Duke of Sussex and his wife improved, the numbers didn't even come close to that of other senior royals.
However, the poll was said to be conducted before the news about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle secretly delivered food to those in need in Los Angeles in collaboration with Project Angel Food emerged. They, reportedly, had been doing this move "a few times" without people's knowledge, which resulted in a surge of donations for the organization. They were also back to work and doing video calls to show their support to their patrons continuously.
On the other hand, other senior members of the royal family, like Queen Elizabeth, got 35 percent positive approval for her work against the pandemic and 14 percent unfavorable. Prince Harry received 33 percent positive views and 11 percent negative. About 29 percent favored his wife's, Kate Middleton, work while 14 percent opposed.
Prince Charles, who tested positive for the coronavirus last month, received 24 percent positive views and 16 percent negative. Hence, Prince William got the highest approval of each royal at 22 percent, Queen Elizabeth at 21, Kate Middleton at 15, Prince of Wales at eight, Prince Harry at -12 percent, and Meghan Markle at -16 percent.
