Prince William and Kate Middleton are reportedly learning to love the virtual way of meeting. According to a BBC reporter, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are liking how much they can have more in-depth conversations with the people they meet during online conference calls for their royal work.

BBC journalist Tina Daheley dished what Prince William and Kate told her about how much they like the one-on-one conversations in the virtual platform as it better enables them to understand what they have to do. For Kate, this setting does away with the "faff" of having to meet different people during their royal engagements, which sometimes takes more time than getting to the nitty and gritty of their work.

This doesn't mean, however, that Prince William and Kate will likely ditch face-to-face meeting for virtual conversations when the situation normalizes. But Prince William did acknowledge that they were able to accomplish so much more while working online at their home in Anmer Hall, where they are currently isolating with their three kids.

Because of the coronavirus lockdown, Prince William and Kate have been mostly confined to online meetings with the charities and groups that they support. The last time they were in an actual royal engagement was on March 19, when they visited the NHS emergency services to check how the frontliners are doing.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, however, acknowledged that the lockdown could be hard for a lot of people because of the limited interaction. The royals then promoted the government's initiative, Every Mind Matters, which supports people struggling to keep a healthier mental wellbeing during isolation. Those interested may enlist in the 10-step program that takes place online.

Meanwhile, Daheley said that her interview with Prince William and Kate showed just how much normal the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are despite their royal status. What's most striking to her is that Kate also asked questions about her opinion.

Kate apparently also wanted to know what Daheley thinks about the changes this pandemic is making society. The journalist said that she didn't expect a royal would be interested in her thoughts. She said that the interview with the Cambridges felt like she was having a chat with regular people.

Apart from meeting with different groups, Prince William and Kate are also using video calls to touch base with family members in different parts of the U.K. They call up their children's grandparents so that George, Charlotte and Louis can spend have time with them even in isolation.
