Are MONSTA X's Kihyun and Cosmic Girls' Bona in a relationship? Reports have surfaced that the two Kpop idols have been keeping a low key romance for the past five years.
According to a report by Sports Chosun, Kihyun and Bona, who are both managed by Starship Entertainment have been close friends since their trainee days but started their relationship as far back as five years ago.
Based on the information, the idols have been able to maintain their low key dating status by being very discreet when they meet each other. The couple has, reportedly, gone on simple dates, going on long drives in Kihyun's car. The pair have also, reportedly, gone on a vacation together with their friends in Jeju Island.
Starship Entertainment was quick to deny the rumors: "Kihyun and Bona are just a senior and junior of the same agency. It is not true that they dated for five years or went on a trip together."
Keeping low key relationships is nothing new for celebrity couples. It recently came to light that a long time dating rumors between Loco and Stephanie Lee were also true.
After much speculation, Loco and Stephanie Lee's agencies have finally spoken up to confirm that the two celebrities were in a relationship. However, the confirmation only came after the pair have broken up.
It can be recalled that news reports surfaced that Loco and Stephanie Lee have been dating for a year but the agencies remained mum about their relationship until recently when they released separate statements on the issue.
"They recently ended their relationship. They've decided to maintain an amicable relationship as colleagues,"Loco's label, AOMG stated
A source from Stephanie Lee's agency YNK Entertainment also said something similar. "Though they were dating, they recently decided to remain as amicable colleagues," .
Both artists are currently busy with their commitments with Loco serving as a conscripted policeman since February 2019. Stephanie Lee has been keeping a steady stream of appearances in dramas such as The Last Empress and Partners for Justice.
Celebrity dating is quite tricky among Kpop idols because of unpredictable fans' reactions to dating news. This year, EXO's Chen made a surprise announcement that he was getting married to his non-celebrity girlfriend which was met with calls for his ouster from EXO.
Kim Heechul and TWICE Momo were also confirmed to be dating in January but the news was met with strong support from the fans despite their 13 year age gap.
