It's Prince Louis' second birthday and despite the coronavirus pandemic and nationwide lockdown, his parents, Prince William and Kate Middleton, will surely celebrate this special day. Aside from the photo the Kensington Palace shared, here is how the Cambridges will probably mark this event despite the circumstances everyone is in.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, along with their three kids, are all staying at Anmer Hall in Norfolk to adhere to the government's advice of self-isolation. Here, Prince Louis' second birthday will be held. Surely, the little kid will wake up with a huge smile on his face, seeing his family and receiving a video call from other royal family members is also expected.
According to Hello! Magazine, Kate Middleton might have stayed up late on the eve of Prince Louis' birthday to bake his favorite cake. In an appearance on In a Berry Royal Christmas in December last year, she revealed to Mary Berry that she made her children's birthday cakes.
"I love making the cake," she said. "It's become a bit of a tradition that I stay up 'til midnight with ridiculous amounts of cake mix and icing, and I make far too much. But I love it."
Prince Louis may also hear a "Happy Birthday" song from his family after Kate Middleton earlier revealed that it was her youngest son's favorite tune at a charity event at Buckingham Palace. It has also been the future queen's tradition to take photographs of her kids and share it on Instagram on their birthdays.
For the fifth in line to the throne's celebration, his mom shared his cheeky smile to Kensington Royal's 11.6 million followers. In the caption, the said photographs were taken earlier this month by Kate Middleton herself.
Meanwhile, in an interview with the BBC, the royal couple revealed some sweet details about how they were spending their time together with their kids at home. Although the schools are closed, Prince George and Princess Charlotte were studying at home, so their mom kept a strict schedule and didn't even let them know that it was the Easter holidays, Express noted.
Kate Middleton also admitted that they also experienced the ups and downs of parenting, just like the many families that were in self-isolation. However, they were all aware of what was happening, which surprised her. Although she didn't want to scare and made the situation too overwhelming for them, she tried to acknowledge it in simple and age-appropriate ways.
