Brad Pitt has been linked with numerous celebrities after he split from ex-wife Angelina Jolie in 2016. One of them is his Once Upon A Time in Hollywood co-star Margot Robbie. So what is really going on between the two?
Back in July 2019, NW claimed Pitt confessed his love to Robbie. The tabloid alleged that Margot's marriage to Tom Ackerley has been falling apart because of her friendship with Brad. Brad allegedly used his experience from his two divorces in helping the Birds of Prey actress and providing the support and comfort she needed.
It added that Ackerly was upset by his wife and Brad's close friendship that he skipped the LA premiere of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. Gossip Cop, however, clarified that Ackerly's absence at the LA premiere has nothing to do with the rumor about Brad and Margot. Rather, it was due to scheduling conflict.
NW also claimed that Pitt and Robbie went on "secret dates" while on promotional tour for their movie in Europe. It cited a source as saying the two snuck off the Cannes Film Festival to go out on Margot's favorite pubs.
It has been known in the industry that Brad has been working on his sobriety for the past years. Hence, it seems unlikely that Robbie would invite him to pub-hopping and risk Brad's sobriety.
Then earlier this year, New Idea claimed the Suicide Squad actress requested not to be seated with Pitt at the 2020 Golden Globe Awards. It cited a source as saying it was because of the "major tension" between the two.
Both Pitt and Robbie attended the award show as they were nominated in different categories and movies. Brad was nominated and won the Best Supporting Actor in Motion Picture award for his role in Once Upon A Time in Hollywood. Margot, on the other hand, was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Bombshell.
The Australian actress did not sit at the table for Quentin Tarantino's movie. Margot also didn't sit at the table for Bombshell with co-stars Nicole Kidman and Charlize Theron. Instead, the actress and husband Tom were seated at a table with Tom Hanks' family.
None of the dating rumors about Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie were true. The two are friends and it was evident on how Brad entrusted his BAFTA acceptance speech to the actress. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button actor failed to receive his award in person because of some urgent personal matter that he needed to attend to. It was Robbie who accepted his award and delivered his hilarious acceptance speech.
