There is little doubt that people are already excited about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 now that James Gunn has been reinstated as its director. After all, this means that the third installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe film series will feature the same humor and storytelling as the first two movies. In addition to that, fans are already looking forward to the nostalgic soundtrack that usually goes along with the Guardians films. Luckily, Gunn has confirmed that he has already chosen several songs that will be featured in the upcoming MCU flick.

James Gunn recently hosted an online screening of his film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 where fans can join in during the Coronavirus outbreak quarantine. Throughout the viewing, the filmmaker tweeted some interesting details from the second Guardians movie and went out of his way to answer questions posted by his followers. For instance, one fan asked if Gunn had already selected music that will be appear in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Interestingly, the Suicide Squad director confirmed that he was already found a lot of songs for the highly anticipated soundtrack.

"Yes, they're already chosen for the most part," James Gunn wrote. He then declined from sharing any titles from the upcoming soundtrack for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait a little longer before Gunn is comfortable enough to share some details about the music.

So what can fans expect in the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 soundtrack? The second film may have offered some clues on what to look forward to. Although the first two films featured songs chosen by Peter Quill's mother Meredith, Star-Lord actually has more options now that the late Yondu Udonta had gifted him with a Zune (which was handed over by Kraglin after Yondu's death). According to Kraglin, the Zune has over 300 songs in it and some might be newer tracks that could end up in the soundtrack.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be directed by James Gunn and is expected to bring back Chris Pratt as Peter Quill, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Karen Gillan as Nebula, and Sean Gunn as Kraglin. Likewise, Vin Diesel is set to provide the voice of Groot while Bradley Cooper will continue voicing Rocket Raccoon. The sequel has not yet been given an official release date but is believed to begin production sometime in late 2020.
