9-1-1 season 3 episode 16 is set to arrive next week on Fox, with the title "The One That Got Away." The title alone suggests the episode will feature emotional storylines. But, we also know that the series often puts some characters in a dangerous situation, and Athena might be in peril in next week's episode.
In 9-1-1 season 3 episode 16, Athena will respond to a simple accident call. She initially thought that this will be immediately solved, given that it was just a simple accident call. But, later on, Athena finds out more about the accident and discovers a potentially more sinister crime.
Athena will probably try to investigate to learn more about this apparent serious crime. Her investigation may lead her to something more. However, she could be in danger, as the more she uncovers, the more she puts herself in a perilous situation.
As for what else is coming in 9-1-1 season 3 episode 16, the 118 fights an apartment building blaze. They will then try to do a daring rescue of a blind woman trapped inside the building. Hen also has a story in this episode; he'll perform a risky medical procedure after an accident occurred at a televised cooking show.
As for Buck, he meets a retired firefighter and he is inspired to reunite this person with his lost love. Perhaps, the episode title may be a reference to this particular storyline. Something sweet may happen here to balance the danger coming elsewhere.
Eddie's story may further be explored within this episode as well. A glimpse of his backstory was shown in episode 15, and it proved how far he has come about being a father. His story is full of happiness, triumph, but also heartbreaks.
Some think that it's now time for the character to find peace in his life and joy, considering that he has gone through a lot already. Good thing Christopher is by his side, though it would still be nice to see Eddie experiencing love all over again.
Viewers should expect some twists and turns moving forward, especially since the series is nearing the end of the season. There are only two episodes left, so some things may get even more intense as we approach the season finale.
9-1-1 season 3 episode 16 will be airing on Monday night, Apr. 27, on Fox.
