It's a sad day for Prince Harry and Prince William after their fellow soldier, who served the regiment with them, succumbs to coronavirus. Ryan Cartwright surprised everyone with his death after he caught the deadly disease while doing his work as a truck driver.

With a fit and healthy body, nobody thought COVID-19 would hit Prince Harry and Prince William's comrade. The 36-year-old didn't have any underlying conditions, but his health rapidly deteriorated that ultimately led to his demise.

According to 9Honey, Cartwright used to serve in the Blues and Royals cavalry regiment for four years. He oversaw active service in peacekeeping role in Bosnia in 2002, where the royal brothers later joined in, and participated in disrupting an illegal smuggling operation.

In a Facebook post, he seemed to show that unlike many others, he couldn't stay at home because he's a trucker. Later, to everyone's surprised, fellow soldier Steven Wharton announced his death.

"Anyone left from 6 platoons, this is hard to say and with a heavy heart, but today Covid-19 has sadly taken Ryan Cartwright from us," Wharton said. "We have always stayed in touch and met up a few times. We were even meant to be joining back up together. I'm going to miss you, brother, and I'll do you proud, RIP."

Cartwright left his partner, Amy Potts, and their kid. With the unexpected loss, his mother-in-law, Shirley, shared how COVID-19 took his life. She said the virus didn't just affect the elderly, asking everyone to keep safe and stay well. She also asked for prayers for her youngest daughter's broken heart.

His former comrades celebrated the squaddie's, a soldier of the lowest rank in the army, life on social media, describing him as a "great guy and very brave." Another one also said that he was a loyal but quiet man.

Prince Harry served in the Army for ten years. He earned the rank of Captain and undertook two tours of Afghanistan, Hello! Magazine noted. He joined The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in May 2005 and began his 44-week training as an Officer Cadet. In 2006, he then joined the Blues and Royals.

Prince William, on the other hand, also joined the regiment in September of the same year when his younger brother entered the military unit. After three months, he completed his 44 weeks of training as an officer cadet and was commissioned in the Blues and Royals.
