Kylian Mbappe is arguably the most promising footballer today. He was dubbed by Cristiano Ronaldo as the present and future of the sport and for a good reason. The 21-year-old already boasts of multiple honors, including a win in the 2018 World Cup. And Mbappe is part of top-flight club Paris Saint-Germain.

Rumors say Mbappe will not be staying for long in the French capital. He is linked with a move to Real Madrid in Spain, or he could make the jump to Liverpool next season. Wherever the young striker will play in the next few years, pundits are in agreement that he will only climb up.

The bold prediction by many is that the Frenchman will pick up more than one Ballon d'Or. As Ronaldo has forecasted: "Mbappe is the future and the present. He's a fantastic player, very fast, and he will be the future."

Those were big words coming from a man that Mbappe said is his top influencer. The PSG striker said that since he's given the opportunity to play in the big leagues, he takes inspiration from the giant names on the pitch now.

Easily, he could nominate Lionel Messi, who is considered by many the greatest in football, and Neymar, his teammate at PSG. But Mbappe made clear that at the top of his list is Juventus superstar Ronaldo.

"I had a lot of idols, there was Cristiano who I loved a lot, and during this period we have had Cristiano and Messi," The Sun reported the French star as saying.

Mbappe added: "I have the chance to play with Neymar who I admired a lot when I was young. They are the players that I admired a lot."

Mbappe recalled that the goal he kicked in when France clashed with Croatia in the 2018 World Cup final match remains the defining moment of his career.

"I would say my goal against Croatia during the final of the World Cup. It was the most important goal I scored until now," the PSG star shared.

He added that the goal can be compared to the one made by Ronaldo while still playing for Real Madrid. It was during the Champions League quarterfinals match that pitted the Los Blancos against Juventus. The Portuguese completed an overhead kick, and Mbappe as the best goal he had ever seen.

Incidentally, Mbappe has a young fan in the person of Thiago, son of the Frenchman's idol - Lionel Messi.

According to Sport Bible, the Argentine revealed that his 7-year-old can't stop talking about six football superstars and Mbappe, of course, is on the list. The others were named as Ronaldo, Luis Suarez, Antoine Griezmann, Arturo Vidal, Neymar, and not to be missed, Messi.

"Thiago knows them all, he asks questions and likes [them] a lot." The Barcelona superstar was reported as saying.
