Prince Harry has, reportedly, ended his connection with one of the 14 charities under his patronage. The Duke of Sussex apparently cut ties with Map Action at the end of 2019, when he was contemplating on stepping back from his royal duties with wife, Meghan Markle.
According to Daily Mirror, Map Action was still listed on the Sussex Royal official site as of last March. However, Prince Harry has effectively ended his patronage since last year after a 12-year relationship with the organization.
Map Action provides data to other international humanitarian organizations during crises. As this news surfaced, an insider from the palace said that there are concerns that Prince Harry could be abandoning the other charities after he and the Duchess of Sussex officially ended their royal public life on March 31.
However, the Duke of Sussex declared during a royal event in January that he and Meghan were not walking away from their patronages. A spokesperson for the Sussexes have yet to comment on the matter.
The news comes as Prince Harry and Meghan are said to be looking for a permanent home in Los Angeles. The Sussexes plan to start a new life, away from the royal media spotlight, in the U.S.
Sources say that they have been eyeing a six-bedroom home in Beverly Hills within a celebrity enclave. But they are also considering a home in Brentwood with secured gates.
Currently, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are renting a gated property in Malibu, near Elton John's home. Despite the government stay-at-home orders, Prince Harry and Meghan have been seen stepping out to due charity work around the neighborhood.
They have also set up their new working team in Los Angeles. Prince Harry and Meghan are supposed to launch a new foundation, named Archewell, this spring, however, the COVID-19 pandemic happened. The couple have decided to delay the launch and encouraged the public to help out amid the crisis.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry apparently confided to a friend that he is missing his life in the military. Sources told The Telegraph that the Duke of Sussex doesn't regret his choice to settle in Los Angeles with Meghan but he felt that he would get better protection as a royal of he was still in active service.
Prince Harry was a military man for a decade. He quit the service in 2015 and met Meghan in 2016. Since marrying the Duchess of Sussex in 2018, the Duke of Sussex's path as a royal changed.
