Matthew McConaughey loves his RV and road trips. But a tabloid made it look like he has been living in his trailer alone and away from his family.
The Globe published a story this week claiming McConaughey has been living in a luxury RV trailer but without his wife, Camila Alves, and their three children. A source of the tabloid alleged that the Dallas Buyers Club actor has been missing the days that he could do whatever he wants and his mobile home gives him the illusion that he is still in control of his life.
"He doesn't call it living separate lives but that's what it is," the insider added.
But then again, the Globe changed its tone a little bit as it went down the story. It claimed that McConaughey would "retreats to his Airstream" trailer whenever he needs some "me" time.
The Interstellar actor allegedly still finds time to be a devoted husband and father to his family despite living in his RV. However, the source added towards the end of the article that Matthew got an independent streak that couldn't be stopped and he often takes his Airstream on solo road trips.
Gossip Cop dismissed the story as complete nonsense. It also reached out to a source close to the actor, who confirmed that McConaughey and Alves are not living separate lives because he likes to go on road trips.
The truth on the matter is that the McConaugheys have been spending a lot of time at home and with his family, especially at this time of the coronavirus pandemic. In fact, the actor has been very active on social media as of late and posted several videos recently.
Earlier last month, he hosted a bingo night for elderlies at an assisted living facility in Texas. The True Detective actor also made a video of himself teaching everyone how to make a "bandito bandana" face covering.
Matthew has also been sharing with his fans some tidbits about the films that he has made in the past. Just recently, he and Jennifer Lopez had an exchange on Twitter about how it was working with each other in their 2001 movie, The Wedding Planner.
The only reason that the Globe could make speculation about McConaughey living alone in his trailer is that the actor posted photos of his RV back in March. In one of the photos that he took while resting inside his trailer, he captioned it, "home on the road."
It wasn't clear in the snap where the actor was heading. He could be on his way to an out of town gig at the time and instead of staying in a hotel, he opted to relax in his own RV.
