BLINKs and ARMYs are growing increasingly concerned over death threats made against BLACKPINK's Lisa and BTS' Jimin in separate incidents, prompting fans to elevate their concern to YG Entertainment and Big Hit Entertainment.
According to a report by Kpopstarz, BLACPINK's Lisa was the subject of a death threat from a Twitter account that hinted that the anti-fan will cause her harm when BLACKPINK stages their comeback.
"Once BLACKPINK has their comeback stage, I am going to shoot BLACKPINK's Lisa, and you can say goodbye to your bias because that's the last time you'll ever see her ugly face again," Twitter user @Ma0be554 posted.
The post was seen and shared by thousands of BLINKs who tagged YG Entertainment to take action against the malicious netizen. Twitter was not the only platform where Lisa received death threats. Another account on Instagram threatened to shoot the Thai rapper.
The account shared a photo of Lisa on top of a tomb with the caption: "I will kill Lisa. I have my gun already."
BLINKs are appealing to fellow fans to remain more vigilant to protect Lisa from the threat as they called on YG Entertainment to take the death threats seriously to protect their artist from harm. News of the death threat came slightly before YG confirmed BLACKPINK's much anticipated comeback this June.
Korean fans are not the only BLINKs concerned about the idol because the death threats also became a trending topic on Chinese social media site Weibo, as fans rallied to protect the Thai singer.
Meanwhile, ARMYs are equally concerned over the safety of BTS' Jimin after a death threat was posted during Jimin's broadcast on VLive with RM.
While Jimin and RM were not able to read the comment due to the volume of the posts coming in, some fans were quick to take a screenshot of the post to alert Big Hit Entertainment to the threat.
"I'll hire a hitman to kill you both if you come to the US," the comment read, which sent shivers on the spine of fans who read the statement.
It was not the first time for BTS members to receive a threat from antis but concern for their safety has been growing, especially with rabid sasaengs tailing their every move and trying to make contact.
Both YG and Big Hit Entertainment have not yet issued their official statements on the threats.
