Stephenie Meyer surprised the world when she dropped the news about the new Twilight book installment, Midnight Sun. As this novel would tell a story from Edward Cullen's point of view, there are now questions if Robert Pattinson is willing to reprise his role if ever the book gets adapted in a movie.

It remains to be seen if Stephenie Meyer will get Midnight Sun adapted into a movie. However, although the book is yet to be released on Aug. 19, as early as now, fans want to know if Robert Pattinson will continue to play his role as the living vampire.

"Rob is very proud to be connected with the Twilight franchise," a source told Hollywood Life. "It supplied so many forever memories for him personally."

His role in the movie franchise and the fandom helped Robert Pattinson reached the peak of his career. However, regarding the new Stephenie Meyer book, Midnight Sun, he has yet to receive the novel's advanced copy. So, he still has no idea where its story will go besides being from Edward's perspective.

The 33-year-old star, allegedly, would love to be back on the Twilight franchise. But, by the time that happens, and if it happens, he feels like he may be too old to play the role of the forever young Edward again.

Anyhow, there is no final decision made yet, as no talks are happening about it so far. But, if there's an offer coming, Robert Pattinson will, reportedly, never be surprised, and he may cross the bridge if it arrives there.

Stephenie Meyer sent fans into a frenzy when she announced the coming of Midnight Sun, 12 years after the last book's, Breaking Dawn, released in 2008. As the first four books of the Twilight saga all came from Bella Swan's point of view, the new installment will be about Edward's standpoint.

After the 46-year-old announced the book's launch on her website, she revealed that she started to think of how the first chapter of Twilight would look like if it were from Edward's viewpoint. She then teased that there is so much in store in his side of the story than there is to Bella. So, fans have to wait and see what Edward has to say in the course of the story.

Midnight Sun was supposed to be out in 2008. It was the time when she first published a partial rough draft of the story on her website. Finally, after 12 years, the book has come to fruition.
