Melania Trump has, once again, picked up the "telephone" relations amid the COVID-19 crisis in the United States. While her so-called "telephone diplomacy" targeted her counterparts from various parts of the globe, her recent phone calls were, reportedly, made to mark the country's National Teachers' Day.

On May 5, the White House's official website shared that the First Lady recognized the celebration of the National Teacher Day and Teacher Appreciation Week by holding a "series of telephone calls" with several teachers all over the United States. As stated, she engaged verbally with educators, "both public and private," who are teaching from elementary, middle school, and high school.

The "readout" of Melania Trump's recent effort reveals that she shared her "heartfelt appreciation" and "gratitude" for the teachers, especially those who are exerting efforts and initiatives to help students amid the pandemic crisis. With the schools in almost all parts of the country are closed to observe the distancing guidelines and safety measures, several actions and leads have been made by the teachers for their students.

As asserted, the First Lady and the educators on the other end of the line of call "touched on" different topics including the efforts that they have done to continue the learning methods despite the lockdown. Also, it was said that the phone calls targeted the many issues and challenges of "distance learning."

Some of the issues that were discussed, reportedly, included the "distance learning methods," the relationships between teachers and parents, as well as the advocacies and actions acted on by the schools to help their respective communities. These things were said to have made Melania Trump "happy" as she learns about the unity and "coming together" of schools, communities, and local governments to come up with "innovative solutions" to resolve the current challenges that the education system has been facing.

Melania Trump also, reportedly, shared a statement in honor of the celebration. She said that the "determination" of the educators to support the young minds amid the pandemic crisis "is truly remarkable." In the end, she went on to thank again the "amazing teachers," and greeted them with a "Happy National Teacher Day."

On Twitter, the First Lady also mentioned her recent phone calls with the educators the following day. She claimed that she had the "honor" to speak to some of "incredible teachers" across the "great" United States.

Alongside the statement, a photo of Melania Trump can also be seen as she holds a smartphone to her ear. She has appeared to have been engaging in a conversation on the photo.
