Prince Edward and his wife, Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, will head the Royal Task Force as Queen Elizabeth temporary scales back from her public duties. The Wessex pair is going to ensure that The Firm will still maintain a solid public presence despite the Queen's absence from public engagements.

According to reports, as the task force enforcers, Prince Edward and Sophie are in constant communication with Prince Charles, Prince William and the rest of the members of the royal family over The Firm's next plans for their royal engagements. A source said, upon the Queen's instructions, that the royals are expected to interact more each other amid the public health crisis.

"Now is the time to heal and have a united front and get back to the basics of what the monarchy is for," a source said. "[Her Majesty's] sole belief is that it goes back to the basics of duty."

Sources also said that the Queen chose Sophie, her favorite in-law, to take charge in the task force as she is such a hardworking and no-nonsense member of the royal family. Thus, she will be able to continue the objectives of the Queen, as someone who is also hardworking and has a no-nonsense approach to her work.

As part of this interaction, Sophie has actually done a tag team with Kate Middleton recently as they called up nurses around the world for International Nurses Day. The Duchess of Cambridge and the Countess of Wessex teamed up to acknowledge the crucial work of these healthcare heroes and thanked them for serving the public.

Meanwhile, reports also stated that the Queen's courtiers are in the midst of planning the monarch's return to the frontlines while the rest of the royal family have been taking more work on her behalf. The royal staff is working out the problems of the Queen's return to private meetings and normal engagements as her interaction with people could put her at risk for contracting the virus.

For now, the Queen is following the government's advice to limit her activities, interaction and movement. She is expected not to be out in public until the fall. However, she is still the head of state and has been receiving her weekly updates from Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Sources said that the Queen is eager to get back to her duties but understands the need to remain isolated for the sake of her health, as well as the health of her husband, Prince Philip.
