Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, is not letting coronavirus prevent her from working. Despite stay-at-home orders, Sophie is not content on doing her royal work virtually only as she is also out there on the ground, taking action.

The Queen's daughter-in-law went out of her way to actually serve those in the frontlines by cooking meals for the doctors and nurses of the NHS. Sophie was in the kitchen of the Rhubarb restaurant group to prepare some food for those in the frontlines fighting this virus.

Rhubarb shared a photo of the Countess of Wessex as she helped with a noodle dish. Wearing a mask and with her hair neatly tied, Sophie showed that she didn't have any trouble preparing the food in large pans, while observing social distancing.

Prior to this, Sophie was also out and about to help pack emergency food parcels to some vulnerable people who can't shop during this pandemic. Surrey Health posted photos of the countess as she worked, while not forgetting to put her mask on.

Per a spokesperson of the organization, the countess showed genuine interest for her work and compassion for those who shall receive it. The packages were actually part of the organization's Easter gifts to its beneficiaries.

Prince Edward and Sophie have been quite busy with their royal duties despite this lockdown period. While Sophie was out doing some work, Prince Edward was holding a virtual award show at his home in Bagshot Park.

The Earl of Wessex was supposed to have the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award in the middle of March but the pandemic forced the event to be pushed in May. However, the government of U.K. extended its lockdown orders for a few more weeks, thus Prince Edward decided to hold the awards ceremony online.

Over 12,000 young people are supposed to get the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award this year. As it has been canceled, Prince Edward, along with some celebrity friends, prepared a video message to honor and congratulate the recipients.

Meanwhile, royal experts in the U.K. said that Prince Harry and Meghan seem no longer relevant with Prince Edward and Sophie stepping up in the royal family, especially in this crisis. Sophie, in particular, is keen on taking and doing more and has been keeping in touch with the Sussex royals' charities.

But a U.S. royal commentator said that Wessexes cannot match the megawatt star power of the Sussexes. Sophie was critiqued for being boring compared to Meghan.
