Foldable mobile phones are slowly making their rounds and Samsung has released a couple already. But the main thing about these new designs is that they do not come cheap. Samsung is fully aware of that and they have addressed that by coming out with lower-end but still foldable devices.

Right now, the Samsung Galaxy Fold is perhaps the most distinctive foldable phone to get in the market. Unfortunately, buyers need to cough up big money to get one. The suggested retail price for a Samsung Galaxy Fold is roughly $2,000. There was the word that the device will get a price off once the successor comes out. The Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 will cost $1,899 but will there will be some changes like seeing only three cameras instead of the common four seen in most phones these days.

Regardless, $1,899 for a phone is still a bit steep. Folks who are not that well off are unlikely to be able to afford one. But it appears Samsung plans to address that issue as well. There are rumors that there will be a Samsung Galaxy Fold Lite 4G device coming and it will come a whole lot cheap. According to Sam Mobile, this device would cost $1,099, practically half of what the current Samsung Galaxy Fold costs.

But as mentioned earlier, the price slash also means holding out several features. The most notable is in the name itself - 4G. Considering most phones are now shifting to the 5G era, the Samsung Galaxy Fold Lite 4G will keep folks a notch lower. Aside from that, the phone may use the Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG) and likely run on a mid-range SoC. So far, no other specs such as the built-in cameras have not yet been revealed. Regardless, it would be best to tone down expectations as early as now.

The Samsung Galaxy Fold Lite 4G will be the budget-friendly offering from the new lines of phones that the company plans to offer. It remains to be seen if the demand for it will spike although there will be some consumers likely to get it. At the moment, the cheapest available device is the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip. It retails for about $1,380, still a bit steep compared to the Samsung Galaxy Fold Lite 4G.

For now, the Samsung Galaxy Fold Lite 4G remains unconfirmed. But that could change later this year with reports that it will be among the new devices Samsung will be unveiling.
