ARMYs would do anything to have the chance to look at the BTS members straight in the eyes. But it seems that Suga doesn’t feel the same way.
BTS love to tease each other, especially when most of the members can relate to the topic. And in Episode 6 of BTS’s new docuseries Break The Silence, Jin, Jimin and Jungkook revealed that Suga is bad at making eye contact.
It was Jin who first opened up the topic about wanting to have a BFF moment on stage like J-Hope and Jungkook in “Boy With Luv.” The BTS star shared that he tried to do a similar thing with Suga, but it didn’t work out the way he wanted as the “Daechwita” rapper wouldn’t even look at him. This revelation led all the boys to burst into laughter.
Jin’s situation with Suga appears to be way familiar to Jimin. The “Promise” singer also shared his experience with the BTS rapper, where his effort also ended up in an epic fail.
“He’s bad at making eye contact,” Jimin said. “When we did ‘DNA,’ I looked into his eyes, signaling ‘Suga? Suga?’ and he’d be like…” the BTS star then reenacted Suga’s facial expression, which is emotionless and looking somewhere else. The BTS rapper even confirmed it and admitted that he was looking at the side.
Jungkook then shared that the same thing happened to him. The Golden Maknae also wanted to have a cute moment with Suga on stage, but the latter was not up for it.
“You know in ‘Boy with Luv’ before we do this part?” Jungkook said while demonstrating it. “I’d link arms and look at Suga like this (looking at the BTS rapper’s direction while smiling), but he’d be like… (standing with his arms down and not smiling).”
Jimin then added that Suga would look at a “really vague place” such as his chin just to avoid eye contact.
However, ARMYs noticed that this situation never happened to J-Hope. In fact, Suga and J-Hope have a very popular interaction in “Boy With Luv” where they point at each other and smile. And yes, while making eye contact.
One ARMY even pointed out that J-Hope was “fake laughing” while Jin, Jimin, and Jungkook were sharing their failed eye contact effort with Suga as he never experienced this before. “Hobi was fake laughing, not knowing what the other boys were talking about. He was like... ‘Can't relate,’” they said.
