Aside from being the Queen Consort in the future, Kate Middleton may also inherit Queen Elizabeth II's royal jewels. Her Majesty owns some of the most lavish pieces of jewelry in the world. So, as the wife of the future king, Prince William, the Duchess of Cambridge may get her hand on the Crown Jewels.

However, as Queen Elizabeth has two jewelry collections, the Royal Collection and her personal collection, Kate Middleton may not get them all. As the Royal Collection belongs to the Crown, it is maintained by the Crown Jeweller and not personally owned by the Queen.

According to Express, the Crown Jewels will go straight to Prince Charles when he becomes the King. Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, will have the right to use it as his Queen Consort or loan it to other royal women.

Some famous pieces that are part of the Royal Collection are the Cullinan Diamond and the Diamond Diadem, which the 94-year-old monarch often dons at the State Opening of Parliament. It also includes the sapphire brooch, which Queen Victoria named as the "heirloom of the Crown." In this piece, Prince Albert gave the sapphire, which is being surrounded by diamonds, to Victoria a day before their wedding.

After Queen Victoria wore it for her wedding day, it has been donned by the Queen and Queen Consort since then. Queen Elizabeth, who personally loves sapphires, still wears it until today.

Hence, it is highly likely that Kate Middleton will continue the tradition. The diamond sapphire piece is also a perfect match to her famous blue sapphire engagement ring that Prince William inherited from Princess Diana.

Regarding Queen Elizabeth's personal jewelry collection, she can do whatever and give it to whoever she pleases as the Crown does not own it. Surely, it will be passed down to other members of the royal family, although it is hard to say to whom exactly.

As Kate Middleton will be the future Queen Consort, there is a high possibility that she will receive the "most precious and intimate pieces." However, she may not get everything.

As it will be Queen Elizabeth's discretion to whom her personal collection will go, it may be passed to other women in the family. Despite the rumors about her and Meghan Markle, Prince Harry's wife may also get some of it.

Also, as her grandchildren and part of the monarchy, Prince Andrew's daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, may get a portion of it. Princess Anne, her daughter, Zara Tindall, and even Kate Middleton's young child, Princess Charlotte, may also inherit some of Queen Elizabeth's jewels.
