Prince Harry seemed to be following in the footsteps of his late mother, Princess Diana, by supporting the cause she once supported. Meghan Markle's husband penned a touching letter to the charity, Halo Trust, for its continues effort to remove landmines despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

The trust does not only do its usual work but also provides coronavirus support to the people of Afghanistan, Somalia, and Libya. For that, the Duke of Sussex is thankful for the actions they do.

In the letter, obtained by Hello! Magazine, the father-of-one said that people's common humanity gives hope in these trying times. Fortunately, the light burns brighter at the Halo Trust. Despite the closed borders, enforced lockdown, and banned travels, a lot of companies chose to suspend their operations, but this organization.

Halo Trust continues its work in all 25 of its branches in different countries. He also praised its response to the pandemic and being able to operate across conflicted areas, like Afghanistan. He also commended its work to do "whatever it takes to help, serve, and protect others" that always shines through.

The cause has 8,500 staff in its 25 branches. It has been providing ambulances, logistics, and PPE to medical practitioners in Zimbabwe, Somalia, Libya, Afghanistan, and Guinea-Bissau during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In his emotional pilgrimage to Africa in September, Prince Harry retraced Princess Diana's steps, walking through the partially cleared Angolan minefield in 1997, highlighting Halo Trust's work. According to People, he was only 12 when the Princess of Wales bravely set foot on the minefield.

It led to an international treaty to ban the weapons, and Huambo became a bustling community. It now holds a lot of college universities, schools, and small businesses. The place has flourished, all thanks to Princess Diana's brave effort to walk across the minefield and remotely detonate a mine.

Since then, Prince Harry visited minefields with the Halo Trust in Mozambique in 2010 and Angola in 2013. He also went to Dirco to see the charity's work personally and donned body armor and face mask to search the area, just like what Princess Diana did.

In response to Prince Harry's letter, Halo Trust's CEO said that it was very thoughtful of him to write to its staff. He admitted that not too many people knew they were helping people in need amid COVID-19 pandemic other than clearing landmines.

In responding to the outbreak, he assured that they have skills and equipment to do so. He also thanked the local people's trust in some of the most dangerous places that let them do their work. Prince Harry is now the patron of Halo Trust.
