Prince William and Kate Middleton are two of the most popular members of the Royal Family. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are also well-loved by many.

That being said, to be linked with Prince William and Kate Middleton's names would definitely boost a celebrity’s career. However, the Duke of Cambridge confessed that a lot of famous people were not willing to work with him and his wife.

In the past few years, Prince William and Kate Middleton have been active advocates for discussing mental health. Since this issue is bound for criticism and controversy, celebrities may have chosen to step back from it instead of being a part of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's campaign.

In the upcoming BBC documentary called Football, Prince William, and Our Mental Health, the future King discussed his mental health campaign. The Duke of Cambridge then revealed that he was not successful in encouraging public figures to join in with his work.

In 20016, Prince William, Kate Middleton, and Prince Harry launched the Heads Together charity. The campaign is to ensure those who are suffering from mental health issues to feel comfortable with themselves and reach out to people when they needed help.

In 2019, while discussing new ideas about the mental health campaign at the Davos World Economic Forum, Prince William mentioned that he had a hard time getting big names involved at the time.

“No one was talking about it. No one wanted to talk about it,” he said, adding that he approached “a lot” of famous faces but not a single big name in the entertainment industry wanted to work with them. “No one was interested in being part of Heads Together, because it was about mental health,” the prince shared.

But brushing the idea of mental health under the rug is precisely the reason why Prince William and Kate Middleton wanted to discuss the matter in the first place. And because of that, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge persisted.

Prince William noted that it’s not as hard to get famous people involved in the campaign now. He said that Heads Together is still up and running and some “very brave” celebrities came forward.

The Duke of Cambridge then emphasized that mental health should not be stigmatized. He shared that there are still a lot of people suffering from it in silence because of the stigma attached to the issue.
