Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced back in January that they will be stepping down as senior royals. While their announcement shocked a lot of people, Queen Elizabeth eventually released a statement saying that she and the Royal Family are supporting the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s decision.

Four months later, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle completed their final royal engagement and officially stepped down from their roles. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex then headed to Los Angeles with their son Archie for a fresh start.

But just because Queen Elizabeth supports Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to quit royal life, that does not mean that the couple will not face the consequences of their actions. Aside from losing their HRH titles and the Duke of Sussex’s military titles, they were also told not to use the word “royal” in their future ventures.

Although losing his military titles was a hard pill to swallow for Prince Harry, the couple agreed to the ultimatums to pursue the new life that they were aiming for. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex then released their own statement saying that there was no jurisdiction over the use of the word “royal” by the monarch or government, clearly showing that they were not too pleased with the demand.

But, despite that, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle still stated that they will oblige and do what was asked of them. However, they appeared to have disobeyed Queen Elizabeth’s requests as their Sussex Royal website remains active until today.

Since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are no longer allowed to use the word “royal” in their new life, the couple is expected to close down all of their social media accounts using the Sussex Royal brand. According to royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may breach the terms of their exit deal if their Sussex Royal website remains active next month.

“Their website still uses sussexroyal.com/spring-2020-transition/ as a link which is curious as Spring, when the change is supposed to occur as stated on their website, officially ends on 31st May,” he said. “I assume that it will no longer be used after that date."

Richard Fitzwilliams then noted that he believes that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will officially put the site down next month. But if they don’t, the royal expert said that the couple should give a valid reason why.
