The series may want to keep Violet involved in the story and one of the possible ways to do that is to make her as Brett's partner. But then, it's also possible Chicago Fire season 9 will introduce a new character and become the newest partner of Brett. Someone new may arrive at the Firehouse 51 who could cause some conflicts and stir things up with some of the characters.
This person may not also be friendly with Brett at first and their bond is something that would build over time. But whoever Brett's partner would be, CarterMatt suggests he or she will be introduced in the early run of the new installment.
Meanwhile, it seems like writers are ready to begin work for the script of Chicago Fire season 9. In a recent Twitter post, showrunner Derek Haas revealed that they will proceed with their plan for the writers room on Monday, June 1.
Reportedly, writers go back to work which would lead the cast starts working in July. But then, that won't likely happen this time around, considering the current global health crisis. Filming may not start anytime as soon as everything depends on the situation.
Cast and crew could start filming as soon as the situation goes back to normal. Meanwhile, there are also episodes written before the previous installment shut down its production. It remains to be seen whether these will be part of the new season or it may opt to tell new stories ahead.
