WARNING: This article may contain spoilers for Chicago Fire season 8 episode 20. Read at your own risk.

Chicago Fire season 8 episode 20 is coming next week on NBC, with the title "51's Original Bell." This episode will be the final one this season and it may likely bring some intense moments. The episode wasn't the planned finale, but the series shifted its direction due to the current health crisis.

Although Chicago Fire season 8 episode 20 is not the original season finale, it may still be a typical finale. Some of the characters are in danger; one person from Firehouse 51 got injured. The synopsis notes that Lt. Severide becomes obsessed with helping out after one of 51's own gets injured on a call.

The question here is: why is Severide eager to help? Perhaps, it has something to do with him focusing on something and can't let it go. This is a big part of who he is; he was able to overcome his past selfishness and want to help others now. His evolution is what makes him a great character as well.

Another question here is: who' is in danger? The synopsis already indicated that someone got injured on a call. So, there's a chance that his or her life is on the line. Since this episode serves as the season finale, there could be some unexpected twists and turns here.

As for what else is coming in Chicago Fire season 8 episode 20, Kidd is concerned for one of her high school trainees. As for Foster, he's contemplating a big decision -- possibly about her future at the Firehouse 5, though some were hoping she's not planning on leaving the gang.

The character's storyline becomes interesting over time and her partnership between Brett becomes enjoyable through the previous seasons. Even though they were completely different, they still come together in times of crisis and they always find a way to help those around them.

Meanwhile, since this is not the original season finale, the remaining episodes that weren't filmed might be part of the next season. The series shuts down its production because of the COVID-19 concerns, so the remaining stories this season may somehow be incorporated in season 9.

The good news is that there's no need to worry about the future of Chicago Fire since NBC renewed all One Chicago for three more seasons. Thus, viewers will be seeing more of the series, as well as the characters at the Firehouse 51 in the future.

Chicago Fire season 8 episode 20 airs on Wednesday night, Apr. 15, on NBC.
