Superman fans could see more of Henry Cavill in a big red cape but not in a standalone movie. Reports have it that Cavill will be alternating Clark Kent's suit and glasses and the Man of Steel cape again in other future DC movies.

Several outlets have reported that Cavill is currently in talks to reprise his iconic role in the Warner Bros DC Universe. However, it may not be for a sequel of Man of Steel, his first and last (so far) Superman standalone movie. Cavill, so far, played Clark Kent, a.k.a Superman, in Man of Steel, Batman v. Superman, and Justice League.

According to Deadline, the actor could return in a couple of different ways. The publication noted that Superman may do a cameo in Shazam 2, Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam, or in Aquaman 2.

All three are currently in the next production line up and filming of these movies could start immediately once COVID-19 safety restrictions have been lifted. Deadline noted that Cavill couldn't make an appearance in the upcoming Wonder Woman 1984 and Suicide Squad. Both were done filming and are now in post-production.

IGN also put its bet on Shazam 2 considering Superman's cameo at the end of its first installment. Black Adam could also be a possibility given Johnson previously teased a fight between Superman and Black Adam.

The Rock earlier confirmed his DCEU debut as Black Adam. In an interview with Fandango, Johnson was asked about a potential match-up between Black Adam and Superman. The Baywatch actor promised that it is on the table and it will happen one day.

Cavill was last seen by fans last week when he made a surprise appearance on Zack Snyder's Vero Watch Party for Man of Steel. At the end of that session, Snyder also announced his director's cut of Justice League is heading to HBO Max in 2021.

Meanwhile, aside from the possibility of a Superman cameo, fans of Cavill could also look forward to the second season of Netflix's The Witcher. The series is expected to start filming when the lockdown restriction eases. The production of the series has been shut down indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Aside from The Witcher, another Cavill's project will also premiere on Netflix. His new movie, Enola Holmes, was acquired by the streaming giant last month.

Warner Bros. originally planned the movie to be released in cinemas. However, due to the pandemic, it has been put on hold. Netflix, later on, acquired its global rights. The site, however, has yet to announce Enola Holmes' premiere date.
