Prince William candidly talked about struggling with homeschooling Prince George and Princess Charlotte during the lockdown. The Duke of Cambridge revealed a realization: he's not capable of doing Math lessons anymore.

The dad of three joked that he learned just how little he retained from his school days when he started helping his kids with their lessons. Speaking in the BBC documentary, Football, Prince William and Mental Health, Prince William said that he has been greatly challenged to step up because of the lockdown.

Prince William also shared that he finally got around to do some DIY jobs at home during this lockdown. In a Zoom chat with other dads, the royal reflected on how much things around the house has been put off until the stay-at-home orders gave everyone the time to do stuff they've been holding off for a long time.

The Duke of Cambridge has been in isolation with his family since the middle of March at Anmer Hall, per the government's directive amid the coronavirus pandemic. Because of the unusual circumstances brought about by this crisis Prince William has been heavily campaigning for people to have conversations and seek someone's help as everyone is dealing with life in quarantine.

Prince William said that it's important to open that door to having the first conversation about mental health while in lockdown. He said that doing this will bring so much more relief and support.

Meanwhile, in April, Prince William's wife, Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, also opened up in an ITV interview that they have ups and downs about homeschooling the children. She said that she tries to let the kids stick with a routine so that they will have structure at home, as advised by the experts.

However, Kate revealed that she tricked the children into staying focused with their school work when she kept the lessons ongoing despite the school holidays last Easter. She admitted feeling very mean by not telling her kids that they were actually supposed to be on a break.

Prince George, almost 7, and Princess Charlotte, 5, are in year 2 and reception classes respectively so their lessons are different. However, Kate said that Prince George prefers to do his sister's school work because it's so much more fun than his literacy lessons.

Princess Charlotte is set to return to school in-person as the U.K. eases its lockdown measures this June 1. However, reports revealed that Prince William and Kate might let the children continue schooling at home since Prince George's classes will not yet open until the following week.
