Space Force recently debuted on Netflix, dropping all its 10 episodes at once. The comedy series was created by Greg Daniels and Steve Carell, who also worked together on The Office. The show proved to be interesting, but will the platform decide to keep it and deliver Space Force season 2?

Since the series has just recently arrived on Netflix, its future is still unknown at the moment. It remains to be seen whether the streaming service will renew or cancel Space Force season 2. The platform usually waits for a couple of months before making a renewal announcement.

The series also ended with quite a cliffhanger, hinting that there are more stories to tell in the future. It's also apparent that Daniels and Carell are planning to expand the series, which got mixed to average reviews from critics. Additionally, the cast alone may secure Space Force season 2.

The first installment debuted in May 2020 on Netflix, and if ever, the platform may want to keep the second season for a late spring or early summer release. It only took four months for the show to film, indicating that it has a quick turnaround time.

However, the current global health crisis may cause a delay when it comes to the development of the season. If Netflix decided to renew Space Force season 2, cast and crew members won't be able to start working immediately as they need to wait for the situation to get a little bit better.

As for the potential story, season 1 saw Mark making a difficult decision that could jeopardize his future with the branch. The administration of the President wanted retaliation as the Chinese base ran over the American flag on the moon, but then, Mark defied the order.

Because of this, the Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force detained Mark and his supporters. The former escaped from the base to save his daughter and he reunited with his family. The season ended with Mark making a choice: going somewhere or returning to the base to assist his team.

Space Force season 2 will likely pick up the events where season 1 left off. And it looks like he doesn't want to abandon his team members on the moon since they're in danger. He'll probably choose to go back there and accept the consequences of his actions.

The series stars Steve Carell as General Mark R. Naird, John Malkovich as Dr. Adrian Mallory, Ben Schwartz as F. Tony Scarapiducc, Diana Silvers as Erin Naird, Jimmy O. Yang as Dr. Chan Kaifang, and Tawny Newsome as Captain Angela Ali.
