Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, is the queen of cool, according to a group of British women recently polled by Perspectus Global. She beats Queen Elizabeth, who landed on the third spot of the list of the "Coolest and Most Inspiring Women" of today.

According to reports, some 2,000 were asked in a survey about what qualifies a public personality to be a role model. At least 57 percent said that they look up to women who have a strong sense of identity and 43 percent regard women who care for the welfare of other people as a vital characteristic.

Kate landed on top of the list because of her recent work during this coronavirus pandemic. According to Perspectus Global spokesperson Evie Porter, Kate proved just how cool and inspiring she is from her video calls to charities and her latest passion project, "Hold Still," an upcoming online photography exhibit.

The Duchess of Cambridge earned 23 percent of the votes from the survey participants. Following her at number two is former U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama with 21 percent. Queen Elizabeth falls at number three with 20 percent of the votes.

Also in the list of today's coolest and most inspiring women are Billie Eilish, Adele, Greta Thunberg, Jacinda Ardern, Katy Perry, Emma Watson, Kylie Jenner, Beyoncé, Phoebe Waller Bridge, Alex Scott, Taylor Swift, Meryl Streep, Chrissy Teigen, Emilia Clarke, Rachel Riley, Hillary Clinton, Oprah Winfrey, Lucy Bronze, Reese Witherspoon, Melinda Gates and Gigi Hadid. Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex and Kate's sister-in-law, is at number 15 with eight percent of the votes.

Kate officially became a public figure when she married Prince William in 2011. At that time, royal spectators were doubtful that she would be able to assume her royal role as a public servant who will one day become the Queen Consort and the mother of a future king (Prince George).

The duchess actually earned the moniker "Duchess of Dolittle" because she didn't get involved in a lot of royal engagements as much as the other members of the family in the early years of her marriage to the Duke of Cambridge. However, over the years, Kate has proven her significance in the royal family, prompting Tatler to declare her as "Catherine, the Great," the kingmaker and the monarch's most valuable player

The Duchess of Cambridge has apparently learned to grow into her role as future queen to put duty first above everything. She's one of the hardest-working royals and has been quite visible and helpful to the social media generation in this pandemic crisis.
