Meghan Markle apparently feels slighted over how Kensington Palace has come to the defense of Kate Middleton immediately after Tatler ran its allegedly inaccurate cover story. The Duchess of Sussex reportedly told friends that she didn't receive the same defense when she was being maligned in the media.

The source told Daily Mail that Meghan definitely noticed how Kate simply "snaps her fingers" and the palace comes running to defend her against the negative press. She, on the other hand, has not been given such a response despite being plagued by negative reports and even as Prince Harry asked Kensington Palace. No intervention in the media was done on their behalf unlike with Kate's situation.

Meghan reportedly told friends that this was one of the reasons why they decided to quit their royal roles and live in Los Angeles. Favoring one over the other felt like a "slap on the face," according to the source, especially for Prince Harry, who has been asking Kensington Palace to revise its policy against the press or at least talk to the British tabloid media about its negative coverage on Meghan.

The Duchess of Sussex apparently felt that she asked too much from the palace. Meanwhile, Kate hardly made any move but the palace quickly came to her defense.

Kensington Palace issued a statement the day after Tatler published its article on the Duchess of Cambridge. The palace said that the piece had a "swathe of inaccuracies and false representations."

As a result, Kate and her husband, Prince William, sought legal action to condemn the Tatler story. Lawyers for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge apparently sent a letter to the magazine asking that the story be taken down. Kensington Palace, however, has no comments about the alleged legal action.

Meanwhile, Tatler responded that Kensington Palace was aware for months that it was running a story on the Duchess of Cambridge. The magazine's editor-in-chief Richard Dennen also said that they asked the palace to work with them on the piece for Kate. They have not taken down the article from the website.

The piece had details coming from a friend of Kate that said the Duchess of Cambridge fought with Meghan about her bridesmaids' tights for her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018. Meghan apparently made Kate cry during this confrontation and this was apparently the start of the strain in the sisters-in-law's relationship.
